Self initiated project.

I watched the 1990's Ninja Turtles movie more times that I can remember when I was a kid, so I had been wanting to take a stab at re-imagining the concept of the main title sequence of the movie for a while now. Knowing that I wanted to keep that dark and gritty look from the original film and also keep that film stock texture, I went ahead and created some frames to get those ideas out of my head.
At the same time, I wanted to apply some newly learnt techniques and software into something with some context instead of random experiments. After 3 weeks working on it in between client projects and during nights and weekends, the images are out in the world so that itch is gone. Hopefully another TMNT fan who grew up in the 80's/90's find these images enjoyable!

A VARIATION OF A TEST FRAME MADE AFTER A SHOT OF THE TMNT 80'S CARTOON. I DECIDED TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE KIND OF EFFECTS SINCE THEY WEREN'T SHOWN IN THE FILM.

A BTS OF THE 1990'S FILM SHOWS THE CHARACTERS CREATORS AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE MOVIE SAYING THAT THE ORIGINAL IDEA WAS TO HAVE PUNK MUSIC AS THE SOUNDTRACK OF THE FILM AND ALSO TO SHOW HOW MUCH THE TURTLES LIKED THAT KIND OF MUSIC. THE PRODUCTION COMPANY THOUGHT THAT SUCH IDEA WASN'T KID FRIENDLY SO THEY DECIDED NOT TO GO WITH IT. I WANTED TO PAY HOMAGE AT THAT IDEA SO I TRIED A COUPLE OF FRAMES INSPIRED BY PUNK ALBUM COVERS AND FLYERS FROM THE ERA.
